What is Habitat for Humanity?

Habitat for Humanity of Knox Co. is a not-for-profit, Christian ministry that builds homes in partnership with low-income families. Volunteers join partner families in building their homes. Families repay Habitat by making monthly payments on a zero-interest loan.

Habitat for Humanity was established in 1976 and has helped more than 600,000 families worldwide. Since 1993, our local Habitat for Humanity affiliate has served over 47 families within Knox County alone. Our yearly tithing has helped over 40 families around the world, including countries such as El Salvador and Nepal.

Seeking to put God's love into action Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.
